THE PLANE

The world´s most popular turboprops aircraft Beechcraft Super King Air produced by the Beech Aircraft Corporation (now the Beechcraft Division of Hawker Beechcraft). The King Air line comprises a number of model series: the Model 90 series, Model 100, 200, and 300 series.

The Super King Air family has been in continuous production since 1964, the longest production run of any civilian turboprop aircraft in its class.

It has capacity for a maximum of 13 passengers, most common version was for executive transport uses to be equipped with 4 to 6 seats in a fully pressurized and soundproofing cabin, it has a better ceiling and range than other aircraft of his category, but its capacity to land safely on many runways considered too short for jet operations was its main advantage.

The military designation varies from service to service, but most are called C-12 Huron or UC-12. These are used for personnel transport, and for military intelligence missions.

In Spain apart for executive transport the model C-90 was used as advanced trainer in the National Aeronautics School (ENA), (left cockpit photo), and in the Air Force for personnel transport.

THE COCKPIT

Each owner decided the cockpit instrumentation from a large possibility of manufactures, in its 45 years of production cockpit instrumentation goes from traditional all clock cockpits to glass cockpit.

It´s common in all models to have a center console with the engine throttles and propeller control, cabin pressure and trims, in the left side was the flap control and in the right side of the center console the landing gear lever.

To switch on the battery prior to flight it was required a key, which was inserted into a lock on the main panel, as today cars.
